The legendary Boss PH-3 Phase Shift pedal is one of my most favorite pedals for use with Gibson guitars. I think it has something to do with the humbucker pickups, but a phaser pedal through a Gibson sounds thicker and fuller than with any other guitar that I have tried.
For those who are not familiar with the PH-3 (or any phaser for that matter), a phaser pedal shifts the tonal qualities of your sound in a sweeping fashion. It is most similar to that of a flanger pedal except a phaser tends to sound more creamy delicious to me.
The PH-3 retails for around $99 and includes the following controls: Rate, Depths, Res, and stage. Basically it allows you to expertly dial in your tone and have some really original sounds at your fingertips.
Expect great Boss quality that will withstand the rigors of the road.
