Line 6 Spider III 75 Amp Review
Line 6 has been dominating the market lately with their rock solid effects fused directly into their amplifiers. They realized that musicians sometimes will go with simpler solutions if they in fact still sound good.
The Spider III 75 watt amp is chock full of enough presets and effects to keep you busy for months of experimentation. The amp is primarily powered by a single 12" Celestion speaker which sounds more like 100 watts and certainly can fill a large room with quality sounds. As for amp emulation models, the Spider III has 12 amp models covering all the major sounds from classic amp to modern work horses. Seven different types of effects are also standard in this amp. These ate not software quality either, but are on par with Line 6 pod stomp boxes. There are over 400 presets on this which I find are very useful while some were over the top. You will find another unique aspect of these presets is that hundreds of them have been crafted by famous artists.
The fact that this amp sells for only $299 should not make you think that it is not of pro quality. The value you get in this amp is legendary. This amp is perfect for a player who does not yet own a chain of stomp boxes and has a hankering for experimenting and diversifying the sonic palette. Head to your local music store and be prepared to be blown away by the Spider III.
